New PT Browser for LeCroy WaveLink Differential Probe System Expands Probing Connectivity Options

Chestnut Ridge, NY, June 30, 2009 - LeCroy is pleased to announce the release of the Positioner Tip (PT) browser for the WaveLink probing system. The PT browser combines the highest degree of flexibility, an easy to use form factor, superior noise and loading characteristics, and compatibility with LeCroy’s popular D610/D310 and D620/D320 amplifiers and LeCroy WL-Plink and WL-PBus Probe bodies. The system permits multiple configurations for the ideal scope/probe combination and the quality signal fidelity essential for making precise jitter and other signal integrity measurements. Probing small pitch ICs is easy with a tip spread of 0.14" and an adjustable thumb wheel. In addition, the new browsers offer a field replaceable spring tip (with a flex of 0.6 mm) to allow robust contact with DUT contacts.

The Dx10-PT and Dx20-PTbrowser tips are used with the D610/D620 for 6 GHz bandwidth probing needs; while a pairing with the D310/D320 amplifiers are rated to 3.5 GHz bandwidth. In addition, the PT can be used with a variety of holders and accessories for ease in hand browsing, or flexibility with a positioner for hands free probing. The PT browser tip is compatible with the Freehand holder, the EZ Probe from Cascade Microtech, and the new LeCroy XYZ positioner.

The high DC and midband impedance of the WaveLink Differential Probe System are ideal for many serial data and memory applications such as PCI-Express, Firewire, and DDR. With ±4 volt differential offset control capability and ±3 volt common mode range, the WaveLink probes are designed for multi-purpose applications for single ended needs (such as DDR memory) and serial data applications (such as HDMI).
