LeCroy Premieres Industry-Leading New Products at DesignCon 2011

Demonstrations Included 12-bit, 45 GHz and 20 GHz on 20 Channels Oscilloscopes, 12-Port 40 GHz Network Analyzer, DDR3 Protocol Analyzer, and End-to-End PCI Express 3.0 Test Suite

Chestnut Ridge, NY and Santa Clara, CA, February 3, 2011 - LeCroy Corporation premiered an array of innovative new products at DesignCon 2011, demonstrating continued leadership in the speed, performance and analysis capabilities of oscilloscopes and signal integrity test solutions. LeCroy engineers were available for discussion on the exhibition floor, presented four technical sessions and delivered one three-hour tutorial.

The product lineup included the new (1) WaveRunner 6 Zi oscilloscope platform featuring an exceptional price point for 4 GHz of bandwidth, a pivoting display and the industry's first 12-bit oscilloscope; (2) LabMaster, the world's highest bandwidth—45 GHz—and highest channel count—20 channels at 20 GHz—oscilloscope; (3) WaveMaster 845 Zi-A, the award-winning 45 GHz, 120 GS/s oscilloscope; (4) SPARQ-4012E, a 12-port, 40 GHz signal integrity network analyzer; (5) Kibra, the industry's first standalone DDR3 protocol analyzer; and (6) the most comprehensive end-to-end test instrument suite for PCI Express® 3.0.

WaveRunner 6 Zi, Tops Industry Benchmarks for Performance and Price

The new flagship WaveRunner 6 Zi oscilloscope features 4 GHz bandwidth and 40 GS/s per channel sample rates with an innovative new industrial design, comprehensive serial-data and probing solutions for less than $30,000 USD. Prior to this introduction, these capabilities could only be found at significantly higher prices. DesignCon attendees were able to preview the new WaveRunner HRO (High-Resolution-Oscilloscope) models at 400 MHz and 600 MHz bandwidths with an unprecedented resolution of 12 bits of vertical resolution. These WaveRunner HROs provide industry-first high-resolution tools for customers requiring high dynamic range and precision measurements. The WaveRunner HROs will be available for demonstration and customer shipment in May 2011.

LabMaster, Record-Breaking Bandwidth, Channel Count, and Signal Fidelity Support New High Speed Technologies

LabMaster represents the pinnacle for bandwidth (45 GHz), sample rate (120 GS/s), channels (up to 5 at 45 GHz, 10 channels at 30 GHz, or 20 channels at 20 GHz) and analysis memory (up to 768 Mpts/Ch). For the most demanding research and development applications, such as next-generation optical transmission development, LabMaster is the only solution available.

WaveMaster 8 Zi-A, Winner of 2011 DesignVision Award

The WaveMaster 845 Zi-A oscilloscope was the winner of the annual DesignVision Award presented by UBM Electronics in the Test and Measurement Equipment category at DesignCon 2011. With 45 GHz bandwidth speeds, the WaveMaster 845 Zi-A is the world's highest bandwidth real-time oscilloscope.

SPARQ, S-Parameters Quick

LeCroy previewed the SPARQ-4012E, a 12-port signal integrity network analyzer that measures S-parameters automatically, with a single button press. Until now, 12-port S-parameters have been out of reach to all but a few signal integrity engineers due to the extremely high price and complexity of a 12-port VNA. The SPARQ removes these barriers, bringing multi-port network analysis within reach of all signal integrity engineers who require high-bandwidth S-parameter measurements for characterization of high-speed passive devices.

In conjunction with the SPARQ, LeCroy also previewed the Signal Integrity Studio. This modeling, simulation and analysis software package combines SPARQ S-parameter measurements with channel and equalizer modeling, eye diagramming, and jitter analysis to provide insight into the effects that impedance mismatches, losses and equalization choices have on signal integrity characteristics of the device under test.

Kibra, Industry's First Stand-alone DDR3 Protocol Analyzer

Designed to lower the cost of testing for developers of DDR3 memory systems, the Kibra 380 eliminates the need for costly logic analyzers while simplifying setup and shortening validation cycles.

PCI Express 3.0 Test Solutions for All Phases of Silicon Development

LeCroy's comprehensive integrated suite of test and debug solutions include physical layer transmitter and receiver test options, TDR/S-parameter measurement devices, and an industry acclaimed protocol analyzer in an extremely cost effective bundle.
