Teledyne LeCroy Expands its Suite of DisplayPort 1.4 Link Layer Compliance Tests in the quantumdata 980 Series

Developers now have a suite of tests to help verify their DP 1.4 designs

Elgin, Il, April 10, 2018 – Teledyne LeCroy, the worldwide leader in protocol test solutions, today announced that they have greatly expanded their suite of link layer compliance tests for DisplayPort 1.4 source and sink devices operating up to HBR3 link rates—8.1 Gb/s. The new test suite is supported on the 980 DP 1.4 Video Generator / Protocol Analyzer module. The test suites include over twenty (20) new source tests and over forty (40) new sink tests.

Operation of the DisplayPort link layer compliance tests is simple. The user-selected compliance test suite is initiated through the 980 GUI Manager. Once initiated, the tests run to completion without significant user interaction. When a test series has been completed, the instrument issues a detailed report that provides pass/fail results for each individual test. Details for each test are provided enabling developers to identify the root cause of failure. Reports and log files can be viewed through the 980 GUI Manager and can be distributed to colleagues and other subject matter experts for analysis.

In addition to the LLC compliance tests, the 980 DisplayPort module offers debug features that help identify and resolve link layer compliance and interoperability problems. Developers can monitor the DisplayPort Aux Channel transactions in real time, to help further identify the root cause of compliance test failures.

The new DP 1.4 link layer compliance tests are provided in two licensed options, separately for sources and sinks. For more information, visit our website at http://www.quantumdata.com/980_dp_14.html or contact our sales support team.
