Spirent and Ixia Select Teledyne LeCroy SierraNet T328 Ethernet Analyzer

Santa Clara, CA May 17, 2017 - Teledyne LeCroy, the worldwide leader in protocol test solutions announces that Spirent Communications and Ixia have both selected the SierraNet T328 25/50/100GbE analyzer for their 25/50GE Consortium and 25/50/100GbE IEEE 802.3by protocol analysis requirements. While Ixia and Spirent are leaders in source generation tools for physical and virtual network test solutions, Teledyne LeCroy provides the corresponding protocol analyzers required to capture, analyze and debug the resultant Ethernet traffic.

“We evaluated the protocol analyzer solutions available in the market, and Teledyne LeCroy’s combination of best in class capture fidelity, combined with an intuitive, easy to use software interface and analysis package made SierraNet T328 an easy choice for our 25/50/100GE analysis requirements,” said Ram Periakaruppan, Vice President of Product Development at Ixia.

“We had already adopted Teledyne LeCroy protocol analyzers for PCI Express and Fibre Channel”, said Ed Nakamoto, Senior Director of Engineering with Spirent. “Frankly, we have come to expect best in class performance from Teledyne LeCroy, and the SierraNet T328 exceeded our expectations, especially in capturing auto negotiation and link training with 802.3 by and Consortium Ethernet traffic.”

“The rapid advancement in higher speed, higher performance network specifications has created a vibrant and fast paced ecosystem that needs more and more collaboration between test solution suppliers to meet the demands of network equipment manufacturers and their cloud and datacenter customers. Teledyne LeCroy has focused on working with leaders like Spirent and Ixia, and we are gratified they in turn recognize our product and service excellence,” said Gerard Geary, Vice President of Marketing – Network Storage Products at Teledyne LeCroy.

The SierraNet T328 protocol analyzer from Teledyne LeCroy is the defining platform for pin-point, deep packet inspection of events and issues affecting high-speed storage and fabric interconnections, during design and validation and in the datacenter. Traffic capture occurs within the analyzer’s dedicated in-band, line-rate probing technology, providing bit level detail of the data stream. The SierraNet offers the most accurate depth of triggering functionality, encompassing all physical and logical OSI layers, ensuring lossless packet captures for in-depth analysis.
