New High-Voltage Differential Probes From LeCroy

Chestnut Ridge, NY - May 1, 2000.

LeCroy Corporation announces the release of two new low-cost, high-voltage differential probes. The ADP300 and ADP305 are both active differential probes with 1400 volts peak differential voltage range. They are both designed for the needs of EN61010 Category III (1,000 volts rms) probing. This means that in addition to being used on appliances and portable equipment (Category II), they can also be used in fixed-installation environments.

The 20 MHz bandwidth ADP300 is recommended for troubleshooting low-frequency power circuits and other signals where the voltage reference is elevated from ground or the location of ground is unknown. The 100 MHz ADP305 comes with a larger set of probing accessories and is designed for probing today’s high-speed power electronics. Both probes offer 80 dB CMRR at 50/60 Hz and low-circuit loading. The ADP300 sensitivity ranges from 1 V/div to 350 V/div while the higher performance ADP305 can acquire signals from 200 mV/div up to 350 V/div.

The ADP series probes come equipped with the ProBus® interface that allows the probe to become an integral part of the acquisition system. The probe receives its power from the scope (you never have to change batteries) and is controlled through the oscilloscope front panel or via remote commands. You can even save the settings as a "front panel file" that can be reused to recreate a measurement setup. An added convenience is the ability to "Autozero" the probe offset — even when connected to a live circuit — by pushing a button on the DSO front panel. This makes it easy to get accurate measurements.

LeCroy, a U.S. Corporation established in 1964, designs and manufactures digital storage oscilloscopes, signal sources, waveform digitizers, and high-energy physics instrumentation. Manufacturing facilities are located at Corporate Headquarters in Chestnut Ridge, NY. Direct sales and service offices are located throughout the United States, in all major European countries, in Japan, and throughout Asia.
