Granite River Labs Selects Teledyne LeCroy LabMaster 10 Zi-A Oscilloscope for USB4®, DisplayPort™ 2.1 and Thunderbolt™ Testing
LabMaster oscilloscope offers speedy compliance and interoperability testing over the USB Type-C® connector.
Chestnut Ridge, NY, January 10, 2023 – Teledyne LeCroy announced today that Granite River Labs in Taipei, Taiwan has selected Teledyne LeCroy’s LabMaster 10 Zi-A oscilloscope for their newest electrical test bench for USB4®, DisplayPort™ 2.1 and Thunderbolt™ testing.
The new DisplayPort 2.1 specification supports 80 Gb/s link speeds, while the new USB4 Version 2.0 specification supports 120 Gb/s using PAM3 signaling to meet the need for faster data transfer for next-generation devices over the USB Type-C® connector. The higher speeds and novel signaling introduce higher complexity into the test process, requiring test labs to increase capacity.
The LabMaster 10 Zi-A oscilloscope provides the industry’s fastest and most efficient platform for ‘gold suite’ physical layer transmitter testing and receiver calibration and testing using the Anritsu MP1900A BERT. The LabMaster 10 Zi-A oscilloscope contains an Intel® Xeon® Gold 6240R 24-core server-class CPU with up to 192 GB of RAM. The immense processing power within the oscilloscope allows required compliance tests to be performed much faster—typically faster than if using a separate computer.
"We are pleased to add the LabMaster 10 Zi-A to support USB4, DisplayPort 2.1 and Thunderbolt compliance testing,” said Quintin Anderson, GRL Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer. “The LabMaster has helped us to immediately expand capacity in our Taiwan lab, as additional testing will be required for the latest revisions to these standards.”
“We appreciate GRL’s confidence in Teledyne LeCroy’s USB4, DisplayPort and Thunderbolt electrical test solutions, and their use of our LabMaster 10 Zi-A oscilloscope to help companies speed their new products to market”, said Tyler Cox, Vice President and General Manager, Oscilloscopes/Physical Layer Test, Teledyne LeCroy.
