CFA VPG-5 Compliance

VPG is a standard established by the CFA to ensure that media cards capture highdata-rate video without dropping frames. VPG guarantees minimum sustained write performance for recording high-quality video. The CFA VPG-5 Specification defines two new VPG classes for CFexpress media cards that capture streaming video:

  • VPG800 - 800MB/sec sustained write speed. A card certified with VPG800 class can use the CFA VPG800 logo
  • VPG1600 - 1600MB/sec sustained write speed. A card certified with VPG1600 class can use the CFA VPG1600 logo

Note:VPG-5 is not backward compatible with VPG Profile 4 (VPG-4). A card that supports VPG800 or VPG1600 may not work with a camera mode that requires VPG200 and/or VPG400.
